Arzolas Fajitas + Margaritas

My wife and I were in search of some Latino dishes and went to Don Carlos on Cherokee only to find out that they were closed on Jan 28 & 29, 2023. Their Google profile said that they opened at 10:00 am however, when we got there that wasn't the case, so we were VERY disappointed. I LOVE visiting small businesses because I am a small business owner myself and feel they have the best experiences. So my wife and I had to regroup and find a new restaurant to try that would give us what we were looking for. She remembered that there was a restaurant that she had been wanting to try and have been watching for a few months now, that is Latino cuisine. So we went. Listen people, this is an experience you have to have! The restaurant is right on the corner of McNair in the heart of Benton Park and the staff is warm, welcoming and tons of fun. They weren't weird or awkward explaining the menu and really gave us a complete, perfect experience. We ordered the chips and queso, Black bean nachos, hush puppy jalapenos, and the shrimp and steak fajitas. The food & flavors are so unique while also remaining in the authenticity of Latin generational dishes. EVERYTHING was amazing! The atmosphere, the food and the family feel you get dining in this place is stellar. They are a diamond in the rough. Visit, visit, visit and have some of their signature drinks while you're there that are just as amazing as the dishes. I'm so happy that this place, was the place where we got exactly what we didn't know we were wanting and more!

I had high expectations going in based on everything I had read and I was not disappointed. We went late, so had no wait, and the service was absolutely spot on. If they were annoyed we came in less than an hour before close, they certainly didn’t show it. Food came out fast, Paloma was delightful and I have never had a better steak fajita. We ordered the shrimp and steak fajitas for two and while the shrimp was perfectly delightful, I wish I had ordered just steak! It was that good. So flavorful and juicy. Highly recommend!

There's something about dining at a communal table* that makes the experience so much more fun. But even those fill up quickly in this little neighborhood gem of a restaurant, so if you are hungry and thirsty and able to get there before 6pm, they open at 4, and in-the-know locals will already be ready to take a seat and start sipping a housemade margarita or sangria while enjoying flavorful dusted chips and an array of dips. The cool part about coming in early isn't just the immediate seat; the chef comes out to meet you and can remember you if you've visited before. The chicken is some of the most tender I've ever eaten, the beef is fork tender as well, and the shrimp is perfect... and all are so flavorful that you find yourself eating just one more bite, even when you're already full. Whether you want your meat (or generous helpings of veggies) in a giant burrito, a set of tiny tacos, or beautifully presented fajitas-style, it will taste delicious. *And if you prefer your own table, there are plenty of 2 and 4 tops, as well. Make sure to check out the back patio seating on at least one visit, generously heated for cooler fall and spring weather.

Friday night first-time visit. Prices were, let’s say, above average, but the food and service were great, and the Winter Margarita with cinnamon and ginger was very tasty. What really stood out for all of us was that each employee we passed by, arriving or leaving, talked to us and either welcomed us or thanked us. It made an impression!
